One of the reasons I love living in San Francisco is because there is SO MUCH to do! I do not know how to sit still. Luckily I am only steps away from a plethora of activities to dabble in. As for my other half…he is the same way. In all seriousness, I often wonder if I married the “energizer bunny?!” We spend A LOT of time together and go on a lot of adventures. It is no secret that we both love to eat, but city life offers so many unique date ideas. Below are a few of our favorite pastimes and some that we are dying to try.
Scoot Scoot
Where else can you use your smartphone to remotely unlock a garage and zip out on an electric scooter?! You heard right – with the tap of an app, you and your boo can scoot side-by-side admiring the beautiful Bay Area views. We own a Vespa and do this on the reg, but Scoot makes it possible to enjoy the benefits of being a part-time rider. Feel free to message me privately for KK and JK approved routes!
Stroll through North Beach
It’s true. We cannot visit North Beach without dining at Tony’s. #Guilty. Regardless, an afternoon in “Little Italy” can be as romantic as an afternoon in Florence! We love to “escape” to this neighborhood because it reminds us of our Italian Holiday back in November 2016. If you plan with enough time in advance, consider buying tickets to Beach Blanket Babylon for a quintessential San Francisco experience.
Dinner and a Movie
Going out to dinner and extending the evening with a movie is fun, but chowing down during the film is even better! The Alamo Draft House in the Mission District allows you to do just that. Word of advice: arrive an hour before showtime and enjoy a cocktail at the on-site bar, Bear VS Bull. You will not be disappointed!
Game Day/Game Night
If you are a football fan (collegiate or pro) there is a bar home for you. #CityLifePerk. Not only is this a fun activity for you and your bae, but it is a good way to meet your “neighbors”. When Jonathan and I moved from Louisiana, one of the first things I looked up was the LSU bar! Five years later and we still enjoy the camaraderie at Northstar Cafe. Ok, maybe you’re not sporty in THAT sense, but how about pinball and pool? Emporium is San Francisco’s coolest arcade bar.
Top of the Mark
We’ve done all of the above minus the arcade games, and this outfit is not suitable for any of ’em! But I am saving the best for last because it is on the top of my to-do list, no pun intended! For the best views in the city enjoy cocktails and tapas at the Top of the Mark penthouse lounge. They had me at martini menu and caviar…Am I missing something spectacular from this list of date ideas?! Fill me in and I will gladly add it to the queue.
