Clear high heels…similar to the biker short trend, you either love ’em or hate ’em! Let go of your fashion insecurities and step out of the box in a pair of clear heels. There are many style perks to owning a pair. Matching is suddenly easy, and they have the ability to elongate the appearance of your legs. In today’s episode of Kelsey’s Kloset, radio host Shan of 99.7Now and I discuss clear kicks, how to wear them, where to buy them, and what celebs are wearing them. Exhibit A: I get it, clear heels are trendy. We might all be tired of them after a few months. Consider buying a look for less and avoid buyer’s remorse. I personally own these and they are San Francisco hill-friendly. Style tip: dress your heels with pops of neon for instantly hip attire. Exhibit B: Barbie just called and she wants her outfit back. Haha! For a spicy night on the town consider dressing your clear heels with a bodycon dress and sparkling accessories. You can never go wrong with 50 shades of PINK!
In this week’s episode of Kelsey’s Kloset, we are discussing the biker short trend. You already know my thoughts, as I wrote a post about the art of styling them gracefully. But in case you missed it, fill yourself in here. Anyway, we are diving keeping into this hot topic and specially discussing how to style them and what celebrities are dabbling in biker shorts. Exhibit A: Exhibit A is for the corporate girl who is not afraid to take risks. Consider this look a frisky way to rock your traditional black blazer. As discussed here, pairing a long garment with your biker shorts is a great way to try the trend without sacrificing backside coverage. Meow! Exhibit B: Exhibit B is for the lover of color (yours truly!). This funky look is a great way to incorporate the biker short trend with a graphic tee and rainbow accessories. Go ahead and wear this for the fourth of July – I guarantee you’ll be the best dressed woman in flag paraphernalia.
In this week’s episode of Kelsey’s Kloset, we are discussing the latest and greatest in hair: barrettes. These glitzy little things have the ability to elevate a look in a matter of seconds. Check out how Ashley Graham fastens Gucci hair clips on her sleek back hairstyle and enhances her ponytail with pearls. We are loving everything about this and there is no reason you cannot dabble in barrettes on your own. Exhibit A: Get your chic on in a color block dress and rainbow accessories. It is just a coincidence that it is Pride Month. This colorful trend is here to stay and you can find rainbow barrettes and matching jewels at all of your favorite retailers. This look head to toe is under $150 and suitable wedding guest attire. Exhibit B: Y’all know I am a fan of versatility…don’t let this very glamorous trend fool you. I’m here to tell you that you can dress your hair-wares up or down as shown in Exhibit B. This entire ensemble costs a whopping $57 and features a frilly smocked top and blush ripped mom jeans! It doesn’t get trendier than that! Stay tuned for […]
Fashion is cyclical and 90s styles are back. That does not exclude belt bags (aka fanny packs), hair clips, or biker shorts. We all have Kim K to thank for the latter. I’ll admit my initial reaction to this “spandex revolution” was meh, but I’ve come around and here is why. Biker shorts can be totally classy…the key is styling them gracefully. Below are my three tips to ensure just that. Backside Coverage If you are on the fence about biker shorts, consider pairing them with a high low top (as seen here). I get it. You are putting yourself “out there” (for lack of a better word!). A moderate amount of backside coverage will ease the nerves without taking away from the look and feel of the outfit. Compression Fit I LOVE these biker shorts because they fit like second skin. In fact, they are high waisted, and rather slimming. They help shape my figure into an hourglass appearance because of their hip hugging nature. Who can complain about that?! We all have insecurities. If your lower half is one of them, don’t let this trend deter you…rather gravitate towards a compression fit. […]
Happy Friday! I’m stoked for the weekend because it is supposed to be beautiful and in the 70s. Temps above 60 are a rarity in the city by the bay. But I am also excited because I found a pair of rainbow pants that perfectly exemplify my personality. Lately I’ve been receiving comments on my Instagram photos that go something like, “color queen,” or “pink goddess” and I am loving it! Color is the way to my heart and I cannot help but smile when I am wearing it. Your confidence is your best accessory. Wear what makes you grin from ear to ear – what makes you feel good! When I found these pants I HAD to have them. I am not sure what I love more: the colors or the pleats. Muted pastels begin at the waist, getting progressively vibrant down the leg. Forget the boots…”these pants are made for walking…” head on over to my IG story to see these stunners in action. Are you partaking in any Pride festivities this month?! If so, these pants or the matching skirt are calling your name! I hope you have a colorful weekend! […]
