The Chambray Shirt for Spring

I often talk about neutrals and the benefits of incorporating versatile pieces into your wardrobe. But let’s get real, there is nothing more versatile than a pair of white shorts…dress ’em up or down with the right accessories. Excited to break out a pair of white cuffed shorts for the first time this season, I have a feeling I’ll be “setting them and forgetting them” after the next few months! For years I’ve been successful at finding a modest pair of shorts at Express. The signature 4.5 inch belted cuffed shorts are offered in a variety of colors and the longer length makes them suitable for many occasions. Tuck a chiffon blouse into these shorts and fasten them with a metallic leather belt, or pair them with your favorite cotton top and adorn yourself in jewelry. Currently Obsessed

Lace and fringe are two of my favorite finishes so far this season. Put them together and it is simply irresistible! With festival season underway, you have probably noticed a lot of both popping up in your favorite stores (lucky me!). You might remember the blue two-piece crochet dress from Current Clothing featured on KK and GG a couple of weeks back…let me introduce you to my most current find, a lace fringe crop top and matching bottoms. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, matching coordinates are great pieces to invest in because you get more than one look out of them – wear them together one day, wear them apart the next. In the ensemble below, I decided to wear the shirt and shorts together and get my fringe on! I accessorized with a slate gray stone necklace and a pewter clutch purse, although I must give proper credit to my taupe “Fringly” sandals. They definitely made the outfit complete! Distressed Denim and a Pop of Neon

Distressed jeans are everywhere. From dark blue to stone wash, to white denim, if you are looking for an easy way to add some pizzazz to your outfit, slipping into a pair of destroyed jeans is an easy way to accomplish just that. After finding the perfect pair of destroyed white skinnies at Current Clothing, it was time to test them out. If you cannot already tell, I am on a kick for all things neon. With the pants being so slim fit, I was looking for a top that would provide some front and back coverage. The yellow mesh sweater photographed below was the right cut and the knit composition is suitable for spring temperatures. Aside from a well matching top and bottom, I never consider an outfit complete without a statement piece. That is where these printed ankle strap sandals come into play! Featuring a muti-colored high-rise heel back, these shoes will effortlessly jazz up your attire by incorporating some great shades into your ensemble. When Life Gives You Lemons

Over the next few posts I am going to demonstrate various ways to rock a pair of white pants. These suckers are a wardrobe staple during the warm spring and summer months and you cannot go wrong with purchasing a reliable pair of flare and skinny white slacks. Suitable for various occasions, there is something so crisp and classy about ’em that I just cannot get enough of. When life gives you lemons, wear orange lipstick! No really, how fun is this fruit-shaped purse?! Food items are trending in the fashion world so why not ride the bandwagon?! Being a huge fan of contrasting colors, I knew this accessory would pop nicely against a white pants outfit, so there you have it. Introduce me to a good peplum top and 9 times out of ten it’ll have a new home in my closet. Introduce me to a neon green lace peplum top and it will be hanging in my closet in a matter of seconds!
