San Francisco Dog-Friendly Brow Wax

Attention beauty enthusiasts and dog-lovers of San Francisco: Meet the lovely Caelie Steele, owner of Flourish Skin & Wax, a dog-friendly skin care and waxing boutique! With over a decade of experience in the field of esthetics, Caelie is nothing shy of a “brow genius.”     Beginning each waxing appointment with a consultation and thorough eyebrow anaylsis, Caelie takes the time to find out exactly what her client wants, and sets realistic expectations based on what she has to work with. By prepping the skin, combing and trimming, waxing, tweezing, re-combing and trimming, re-tweezing, cleaning the skin, and then finally applying calming lotion, Caelie’s technique results in beautiful shapely brows. If you’ve never received compliments on your eyebrows before, get used to it because they’re about to start rollin’ in.       With an extensive background in makeup artistry, you’ll never leave your appointment with pink skin or half-done eyeshadow. Instead, you’ll leave with an even more polished look than when you first came in. Using her assortment of Jane Iredale The Skincare Makeup, Caelie will touch up your powder and shadow and even offer to teach you how to fill in your brows. Now if that’s not […]

Nutella No Bake Cake

Enjoy the first day of the new year with a Nutella No Bake Cake! Containing only four ingredients, whip this up in 10 minutes or less, then sit back and relax while it cools in the refrigerator. Heading out to a 2015 celebration, later? Bring this dessert and you’ll be the hit of the party…but don’t plan on having leftovers!   Here is what you’ll need to make this cake:   13 oz jar Nutella 8 oz container Cool Whip 8 oz package softened cream cheese 9 or 10 inch graham cracker pie crust   Step one: Open jar of Nutella and carefully remove the foil covering. Slip jar into microwave for 15-20 seconds to soften the spread.   Step two: Using a rubber spatula, spread a thin layer of Nutella over the bottom of the pie crust.     Step three: Beat the remaining Nutella, the softened cream cheese, and the cool whip together until smooth by hand or with an electric mixer.     Step four: Pour the mixture into the pie crust and smooth out with rubber spatula.     Step five: Refrigerate for 4 hours or freeze for 1.5 – 2 hours, serve and enjoy.   […]

Wishlist Wednesday: The BEACHWAVER® PRO

If you find yourself battling with your curling wand, or iron, then this gadget is for you! The BEACHWAVER® PRO takes the struggle out of styling your own luscious locks. It’s patented design features digital temperature controls and left and right buttons, making for an easy peasy curling experience!     Why are left and right buttons so exciting?! Well, when you manually curl your hair, if you’re going for that effortless just of the beach look, wrapping strands around the barrel away from your face is key. Say goodbye to burnt fingers – the left and right buttons do the work for you. Tell the device (by hitting left or right) which side you’re working on, and it will spool your hair around the barrel in the correct direction. Once your hair is cool to touch, simply run your fingers through the curls and ta-da!     I can only imagine how much time this would save me during my “getting ready” routine, but if you’re still not sold on it, watch the BEACHWAVER® PRO work its magic on YouTube here. Or, if you can’t wait to get your hands on one of these, click here for a list […]

Fashion, Outfit of the Day

New Year’s Eve Outfit

Rather than ringing in the new year in a sequin dress, try a metallic peplum top instead! These glitzy shirts çan look just as glamorous when they’re styled with the right accessories. Try some shiny black pants, patent leather shoes, and flashy jewelry with your peplum garb.   In the outfit below, I paired a beige peplum top (sold out but try this or this) with a statement necklace, a bejeweled watch, and a faux fur infinity scarf. I polished off the look with black wax-coated jeans (similar here) and my favorite pair of black pumps.   Isn’t it amazing how a few adornments can transform an ordinary look to a special occasion look in a matter of seconds?!
