High-Low Top for the Avid Dress Wearer

If there is one area my wardrobe is lacking, it is in the tops department. I am flat-out uncomfortable wearing “jeans and a shirt.” My blog name is technically Kelsey Kaplan Fashion, but it could easily be changed to: Kelsey Extra Kaplan! What can I say…I was born this way.     Dressing in dresses, rompers, jumpsuits, and skirts 24/7 is simply unrealistic. So how does a gal like me incorporate tops into her wardrobe? Allow me to explain. When I am top huntin’ I keep an eye out for “basics with a twist.” I will always choose the white shirt with a ruffle embellishment over a plain pocket tee. I will buy the sheer top with puff sleeves over a fitted bodysuit. AND I will always buy the high-low top or shirt with an asymmetrical hemline! Do you see where I am going with this?!     Whenever I walk into a clothing store I make it a point to peruse the tops section. Alice + Olivia x Kelsey Kaplan Fashion

Two Saturdays ago I had the pleasure of hosting the 7th Year Anniversary Party for Alice + Olivia SF. I have been a fan of the A+O brand for quite some time, so it was truly an honor! In case you are unaware, Alice + Olivia was founded in 2002 by the very talented Stacy Bendet. What attracts me to the brand are the colors, quirky patterns, sexy silhouettes, and the fit. As a petite woman, it can be hard to find clothes that fit straight off the rack. A+O apparel never ceases to amaze me – an xs is actually an xs! The quality control is superb and for that I will be a lifelong fan.     The Party We like to party…we like we like to party! Orange is the new black…I could not resist! Neon is HOT for spring and if you shopped my wish list last Wednesday, then you know I’ve been eyeing this exact dress!
