Get Rid of Dark Circles with Belotero

Last Friday I turned 31 and I did a “thing.” I walked to Jonathan’s office to have him inject Belotero under my eyes to conceal my infamous dark circles. Yep, I said it, I underwent a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure. The entire process was about 15 minutes long and I left 2100 Webster Street Suite 429 feeling more confident than ever!     You all know I always share my beauty secrets (well then technically they are not really secrets, are they?!). Like when micro-blading my eyebrows changed my life, and when I finally came to the realization that washing my hair less was the key to luscious locks. Well, this one is different. When people find out that my husband is a plastic surgeon, I feel like I am immediately judged. It’s like I want to save them the trouble and say, “no I am not all plastic!” For as long as I can remember I have been self-conscious about my dark circles. I’ve talked about them here and if you follow my Insta stories you know I am always trying the next best thing to cover them up (Laura Mercier Brightening Powder for the win!)     Before […]

Orange Sequin Dress – Extra Extra!

It’s my birthday, I can wear what I want to! Even if it means I will be the most over-dressed woman in the restaurant times 20. But the older I get, the less I care! I am unapologetically me and I am “extra” and I know it! So about this orange sequin dress…     People (I am specifically talking about those who like to dress up) often gripe about the fashion in San Francisco. This quirky town is infamously referred to as, “sweatshirt city.” There are a lot of folks walking around in their lululemon gear and sneakers. But we also live somewhere where the general populous is very health-conscious and active. I am ok with that! But what I appreciate even more is that when it comes to fashion, “anything goes.” Remember, this is also the city where a group of men ride their bikes and jog Bay to Breakers NAKED. I kid you not. A girl in a bright orange sequin dress is nothin’!     Last month when I spoke briefly with Avril Graham, Fashion and Beauty Editor of Harper’z Bazaar, she asked me what I thought about the fashion scene in San Francisco. I told […]

2019 New Year Resolutions

Reflecting Back 2018 was a blast! It started off with my first ever blogger event, “Birthday at the Bar.” Ringing in my 30th year with my Bar family and sharing my love for the the exercise alongside friends was awesome. In May we celebrated our fifth year as San Franciso residents and the fifth year that Jonathan has been in business. It still blows my mind that we had the CHUTZPAH to pick up and leave a very stable life and move to the most incredible (yet most expensive) city in the US. Shortly after passing this milestone, I returned to Colombia for the first time in 30 years! We spent the most magical 11 days in Bogota, Medellin, and Cartagena. September was another big month. I was featured in Harper’s Bazaar during New York Fashion Week, and Jonathan and I comemmorated SEVEN years of marriage! Time really does fly when you are having fun. I am looking forward to the sweet occasions the new year will bring. We already have a busy couple of months ahead of us, but before diving in, I think it is important to set goals and lay out some attainable 2019 new year resolutions. After […]

Little Pink Sweatshirt Dress

Happy Friday! I hope you have some plans this weekend involving friends and family. I have been waiting all week to share this outfit with you – I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! What do you get when you mix a sweatshirt and a dress?! Cozy perfection! There is nothing better than coming home from a long day and slipping into your favorite sweats. No need to hibernate inside with the Jessa Sweatshirt Dress from Lover + Friends. This item is just as stylish as it is comfortable and can go casual or dressy. For an easy daytime look, wear it with your favorite flat boots, or take it up a notch with an over the knee pair. For me there is no middle ground between my Bar Method clothes (aka activewear) and the outfits that appear on my blog. If you fall into the same level of “extra,” consider wearing a high heel boots and a printed stockings with your sweatshirt dress! You need novelty stockings! These little things have the ability to totally avert a fashion crisis. Boring outfit – oomph it up with textured tights. Short skirt – incorporate a printed stocking for […]
