The Healing Powers of a Killer Outfit

Have you ever had a day or week where you just felt off? Of course you have…we are all human. Last week I felt defeated. Everything was annoying me and nothing was turning out the way I had planned. My computer was running out of storage, plans fell through, etc. I’m not going to sit here and whine, but I must admit that it was not a fun feeling. Across the board I am a very positive person. Most of the time I can just go for a walk and snap out of it. But when things start to pile up, looking “up” can be easier said than done. Marc Fisher Wedges: Why You Need a Pair

If you are going to add one item to your summer wardrobe, make it a pair of Marc Fisher wedges! I’ve been admiring these kicks for a couple of years and finally pulled the trigger before our Colombia trip. If you remember, these and a pair of flip flops were the only pairs of shoes I traveled with and the reason I could get away with one carry-on suitcase. So how’d they do, you may ask? Hear me out! Keep your Standards High, and your Heels Higher! Wedges are a smart choice if you are on your feet for several hours. There is equal pressure across the entire length of your foot. I am happy to report that I wore these shoes all day for 11 consecutive days with no foot pain or blisters. Shocking – I know, especially for a four inch platform. In terms of durability, I give them a 10. I walked through grass, cobblestone streets, sand, etc., without experiencing wear or tear on the soles. Wish List Wednesday: One of Everything Mercedes Salazar

I hope you enjoyed my Colombia Travel Guide. Here you can find where to stay, where to eat, and what to do in Bogota, Medellín, and Cartagena. The only thing lacking is a synopsis of Colombian fashion. If you follow me on Instagram, then you know how I dressed for the trip, but what about the overall vibe?! It is my pleasure to introduce you to the very talented Colombian designer, Mercedes Salazar! People often remark about my ability to accessorize an ensemble head to toe. I am very flattered that my “fans” are taking notice because if there is one thing I would like to be known for it would be this exactly! I do not just wear clothes. Palm Print Pants – your “Summery” Work Trousers

I fibbed. I said I would “retire” the palm print after rocking this romper in Cartagena, Colombia. Hopefully you will forgive me when you see just how fab these palm print pants are! When something is that good I loose all self control. I’m only human, after all. Introducing the summery version of your traditional work trousers! Make a big statement without paying big bucks in these palm print pants – they are only $40. Anyway, in case you’re wondering, the legs are wide, the waist is high, and pockets are functional. These are three design features that are worth getting excited about. Now I already know that I am very “extra” in this ensemble. Call me Kitschy Kelsey if you want. But I just LOVE how well the embroidery in the sweater compliments the colors and print in the pants. For once I am thankful that July is our winter aka sweater weather.
