What’s in my Delsey Suitcase?

In 72 hours we are off to Colombia. All I can say is, thank goodness for two-day shipping! We are visiting three different cities and the climate varies greatly from one to the next. I have been watching the weather like a hawk and it looks like there is some rain in our future. Fingers crossed my white jeans stay white for more than one third of our trip! Ha! Now that is wishful thinking. Regardless, I’m making it a mission to pack all of my belongings into this small Delsey suitcase. How to Wear a Monochrome Outfit

It is not very common for a lover of color to go head to toe in neutrals. But when done right, a monochrome outfit can leave a lasting impression. Here’s the secret “ingredient!”     It’s all about texture. Think about it, blocks and blocks of the same color are uninteresting and predictable. But mixing textures into your monochrome outfit creates an attractive contrast. Today I am practicing what I preach with: lace, ruffles, and gold studs. These design elements work together to form an elegant ensemble.     This two-layer tee is the perfect addition to my not so practical summer wardrobe. It is what I refer to as a “basic with a twist.” When I am not wearing it with shorts, it will look simply chic with ripped denim. City Girl Takes the Country in Volkswagen Beetle

Text Convo with my Mom: Mom: I’m shopping for a car, do you like this one? [sends photo of Volkswagen Beetle ] Me: Love it. How fast can you get it? Mom: Not sure, why? Me: Because it would make a really cute prop for blog pics while I’m there next week. True story! But asking someone to take your blog pics can be an intimidating task especially if they are not a seasoned photographer. Here are a few photography tips for your “Instagram Person” on the fly!     Shoot During the “Golden Hour” Lighting plays a HUGE role in fashion photography. The lens of the camera is sensitive to sunlight the way our eyeballs are sensitive to it. The only difference is, our eyes automatically adjust to the elements. Rather than struggling with ISO, saturation, shadows, and light reflector screens, shoot with your amateur photographer during the “Golden Hour.” During this hour before sunset, the sun is higher in the sky and the light is juuuuust right for photos.
