The Perfect Pant by Alice and Olivia

If there is one thing that you should know about my fashion style it is this: I am a pants girl. I would choose a pair of pants over a skirt or dress any day of the week. Some may find that masculine but I think it’s plain chic! Maybe it is because of my active lifestyle that I feel restricted in the latter. Regardless, it takes a lot of fitting room hours to find well-fitting pants, so when I find a pair, they’re coming home with me. Today we feature what I refer to as the “perfect pant.” I do not splurge often, but when I do, it is on Alice and Olivia. I’ll be the first to admit that I have a love hate relationship with bodysuits. I LOVE how they look on, but I don’t love using the ladies room when I’m wearing one! Second of all, it is really hard to find one that doesn’t reveal all of your lady lumps. And while it might hug your curves in the “right” places, it might also leave you with unsightly panty lines. So, after countless reader questions regarding bodysuits and where to buy them, I’m hoping to help a sister out with this post highlighting a ruffle bodysuit. So what’s the secret? It’s all about the composition – the garment’s material make up. It would be easy to write off all lightweight fabrics but those come in handy in the form of undershirts. So before you purchase a bodysuit, always ask yourself how you plan to wear it. Are you wearing it under a fabulous jacket? Wedding Guest Attire: Little Cobalt Jumpsuit

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of attending my friend Lindsey’s wedding in Jackson, CA. It’s a cute little town with old fashion store fronts and all, but if you have never heard of it is no surprise. We lodged at the historic National Hotel in the heart of “downtown.” We were very impressed with the amenities. Give me a big white robe to get ready in and you’re guaranteed a five star review! Haha…in all seriousness it was perfect and if you ever find yourself up that way, I highly recommend the National. Anyway, after the ceremony something occurred to me…I have yet to dedicate a blog post to wedding guest attire. So that is what I am doing! Hear me out. There are a lot of things to consider when dressing for a wedding. To begin, check the forecast. There is nothing worse than over heating or freezing your behind off. Frilly Pants for Cinco de Mayo

Evidently Cinco de Mayo is on my mind. This week’s outfits scream fiesta! But before I go any further, I’d like to give the lovely Tamryn of Wanna Be Fashion Blogger a special shoutout for introducing me to these frilly pants. Now who’s the “wanna be?!” I have a thing for pants. I would choose a pair of funky trousers over a skirt or dress any day! It’s probably because I’m so active and they’re easier to move around in. Anyway, this pair reminds me of my favorite televisions series, Dancing With the Stars. I have been a fan of frilly costumes since season one so you can imagine my excitement when I discovered this pair. Despite my admiration for the show, you’ll never catch me on the dance floor. Fiesta Outfit: How to Dress an Embroidered Garment

I feel so fortunate to have a job that allows me to work remotely. On a whim, GG and I decided to accompany Jonathan on a business trip to San Diego. I’m not going to lie…I’m really looking forward to the 80 degree weather! We will only be there for three nights and four days, but it’s the perfect excuse to coordinate four fabulous ensembles. Today we feature what I refer to as my “fiesta outfit.” To me, it screams San Diego! You can bet your bottom dollar I’ll rock this little number over a margarita or two. Is embroidery cool? The answer is YES and it’s popping up across the fashion space in various forms. From jeans, jackets, tops, to accessories, you name it – there is an embroidered version for sale. I am a little late to the trend, as embroidered jeans bring me back to my childhood years, but better late than never!
