“Anything goes” in the 2017 fashion scene and I’m lovin’ it. It used to be that pastels were the primary colors available for spring, but that is no longer the case. From neons, muted hues, pastels, and metallics, they are all hot for the spring and available in abundant quantities. Reinventing the Wheel with Ruffles

One of my jobs as a fashion blogger is to forecast the up and coming style trends. I already let you in on the secret that cropped pants are the new norm, and that lucite shoes are all the rage. But there is one trend that I have yet to delve into. In case you have not guessed from the title of this post, it is ruffle embellished garments.     Fashion designers are reinventing the “classic top” by incorporating ruffles. It sounds dramatic, but it is the truth! Go see for yourself. I am fond of this idea as I always keep an eye out for basics with a twist. This ruffle blouse from H&M is the perfect example. If you look closely, the sleeves feature adjustable button cuffs. The standard blue button-down blouse was totally the inspiration behind this piece. While I do not typically wear button-downs, I sure as heck wear “wanna bes” with ruffles and one-shoulder necklines. Wish List Wednesday: 2017 Must Have Swimwear

Spring has sprung and swimsuit season is right around the corner. It’s time to start thinking about your beach bod! Even though if I do not have a beach vaca on the calendar, it’s a knee jerk reaction to start buying suits. I guess you can call that #fomo. Anyway, I’m continually impressed with how swimwear evolves. It just keeps getting better and better. In case you haven’t guessed already, this week’s rendition of Wish List Wednesday covers must have swimwear!     High Waisted Bottoms High waisted bottoms have slowly but surely saturated the bikini market. Although there are a lot of ’em, they are all very different. Check out the neoprene number in neon yellow (suit 3) and the denim pom pom bikini (suit 4). I am not sure what I love more, the cutouts or the color.     Adornments I LOVE how Lolli swimwear is turning our mermaid fantasies into reality with the seashell bikini in suit 1. Every few years the one and only, Target, collaborates with a designer brand we all covet and love. Some of the past partnerships include: Alexander McQueen, Missoni, and Lilly Pulitzer. If you have been following my blog for quite some time now, then you probably remember the big Lilly launch. In a nutshell, I stayed up all night refreshing the Target website to buy a few items from the collection. While I will not make the same mistake this year, I am excited to announce that Target and Victoria Beckham are teaming up! Together they curated an exclusive line available April 9th – April 30th at target.com and a store near you.     Victoria Beckham for Target includes a collection of over 200 pieces. The price point ranges from $6-$70. Better yet, the majority of the products are priced under $40. Items include women’s fashion ranging in sizes XS-3X and NB-XL for girls, toddler and baby. Pleated Midi Skirt and Lucite Shoes

Now that you know how to style lucite shoes with a classic skirt, today we feature a pleated midi skirt. This edgy look is right up my alley. I hope it is easy for you to replicate with items on your spring wish list.     I can remember the days when I was afraid of the midi length. At only five feet tall, the last thing I want to do intentionally is make myself look even shorter. I am here to tell you that it’s all about the shoes. No matter how tall you are, nude or lucite shoes will elongate the appearance of your legs. Another reason to take the plunge on one of the season’s hottest trends. Remember, they don’t have to lace up!     The Shine Your Way pleated midi skirt cascades like a waterfall. You cannot help but feel majestic while wearing it.
