There once was a time where I was the true meaning of a pink lady. Just about everything I owned was pink! My love for the color went as far as having a custom license plate made for my car reading, “Pink 1” I kid you not! I was that girl. After the pink party ended several years ago, I swore I’d never wear the color again. Fast forward to 2016 and here I am again blushing over the color blush! This ensemble is currently on my wish list…although by the end of this post, it might be in my shopping cart. Although my taste in color has certainly diversified since way back when, there is something so loving and sweet about the pale pink hue. When I came across these satin trousers, my creative mind began to roll. How fabulous would these be for a holiday party or date night soiree?! The high waisted silhouette makes them crop top friendly and the wide legs scream drama! My first instinct was to dress them with a matching blush top. Monochromatic looks are one of my favorite to style as seen here and here. For a less […]
Now that your cape is on its way, the next item to add to your must-have list is a fur vest. Whether faux or fur, it will have the same affect, and getting dressed will become much less of a chore. Here are three reasons you need to add one of these to your fall garb rotation. Versatile It is a lot easier to justify a purchase when you know you are getting a lot out of it. When it comes to a fur vest, you are getting a statement piece, and a layering piece. In the featured ensemble, the vest is what makes the outfit pop. In all honesty, this dress would have been a little too plain without the addition of the vest. When I am not using this item as an accessory, I am using it to layer and keep warm. There is nothing cozier than bundling up in fur anything on a brisk autumn day. Coverage Perhaps the best reason to invest in a fur vest is because it can provide added coverage during times of need. The last time I styled this piece, I wore it over a sheer crop top. […]
If I won the lottery tomorrow, aside from designing my dream closet with built-in glam room, one of the first things I would do is hire a personal tailor. Being “blessed” with a shapely but petite frame, fitting clothes straight off of the rack can be a bit of a challenge. I do not remember the last time I did not need to hem a pair of pants! While I have gotten good at finding petite brands, or buying midi skirts to wear as maxis and so fourth, I think we can all agree that having a personal clothier would be very luxurious. A girl can dream, right?! Since all odds are against us, I would like to introduce you to the next best thing: Eshakti! For a fraction of the cost (my top was $42.95!), get custom made clothing delivered to your door. Eshakti offers a wide product mix of ready to wear clothing in standard sizes from 0-36W. While you can purchase them as shown, you may customize each garment to your measurements. As if that is not impressive enough, you can also weigh in on the neckline, sleeve, and length. This butterfly print […]
It’s sunny season…and by that I mean it’s time to break out a new pair of sunglasses! Don’t let the winter blues hit you early, stock up on stylish shades while the sky is still bountiful with sunshine. Below are a few pairs of fall frames currently on my wish list. I mentioned these beauts before, but in case you missed the memo, the Teggy by victory optical is the fall’s hottest item. Retro and oversized, these glasses are perfect for everyday wear and even better when you need to go incognito. You may recognize them from this and this post, but they are available in four colors and I’m coveting the Parisian Pink pair. The Kubrick by Mink Pink is a playful take on traditional tortoise eyewear. How can you not smile while wearing heart-shaped frames?! Featuring gold hardware and a matching mirrored lens, these pretty little things will look fabulous styled with all of your fall attire (insert heart eye emoji). Maybe heart-shaped anything is out of the question for fear of looking too juvenile. Consider some stunna shades from Quay Australia instead! The Sugar and Spice sunnies are a marble masterpiece. If […]
If there is one piece of advice you should take away from my blog write ups it is this, invest in a cape! Covering your shoulders with a cape is the chicest way to do it. Whether it be in the form of a shirt, blazer, or cape dress, this wardrobe addition will effortlessly step up your style game. As stylish as they may be, there is definitely a right and a wrong way to style a cape. To avoid the super hero look, show some skin. If you’re rocking over the knee boots, for example, gravitate towards a sleeveless under shirt and a cropped cape. Or, if you’re wearing a leg baring dress, consider a longline cape. It is all about the balance! Over the last couple of weeks, I have not left the house without a poncho or a cape. These garments undoubtedly make getting ready more enjoyable during the San Francisco fall “summer” weather. The only thing better than a cape jacket is a cape dress. When I found this one from Asos, I knew I would get a lot of use out of it. The fall is packed with events in my […]
