Your Bar Method attire just got an upgrade thanks to Emi Jay’s playful designs. You may remember this muscle tank from a Wish List Wednesday post a few weeks ago…now I am a proud owner. I love Emi Jay tees because they are comfy and lightweight. The one size fits all design is great because you can wear it long or short, and the dropped armholes ensure awesome ventilation. I opted for a shorter fit and tied it to the side, and added a pop of color with an orange sports bra. I happen to be wearing the Free to Be bra by lululemon – my favorite sports bras of all time. They provide moderate support without the suffocating affect. I paired these two with my go-to cropped pants also from lululemon. The Pace Rival Crop bottoms are reliable and basic. Featuring 4-way stretch and mesh paneling, these pants are suitable for the barre, the bike, or bootcamp. Although we work out in socks at the Bar Method, an exercise outfit is not complete without a pair of sneakers! These leopard beauts are what I refer to as “walking shoes,” and for only $34.99, you’ll be […]
I have developed an affection for all things sheer! While see-through garments were once considered racy, they are perfectly acceptable in 2016, when tastefully styled. Check out recent posts here, here and here demonstrating sheer elegance. Below are a few pieces currently on my wish list. If you have never heard of For Love of Lemons, you’ve been missing out. This luxury brand is known for its intricately designed sheer garments. Along with the fine craftsmanship comes a high price tag. It is my pleasure to introduce you to the Ezra Dress, a look for less from Saule Boutique. This beige and blue beauty is a showstopper and perfect for a springtime soirée. With a trip to Hawaii quickly approaching, I have swimwear on my mind, and Lately I am attracted to high waisted bikinis. There is something so feminine about this retro silhouette. I am particularly enamored with this fuchsia two-piece from Revolve Clothing. This hot hue will compliment sun-kissed skin, and the mesh details create just enough dimension. The Paradise Luxe Ivory Lace Maxi Dress by lulu*s screams bride-to-be! This ivory dress features a lace appliqué and sequin overlay, falling into a mermaid […]
Over the weekend we had the pleasure of experiencing a Napa Valley Valentine’s Day with some of our closest friends in the Bay Area. Wine country during the month of February is heavenly. From the weather to the lush terrain, there is no better month to visit if you ask me! We started off at Clos Du Val, our favorite winery in the valley. Not only is Clos Du Val dog-friendly, but there is always a place to sit and you can even enjoy a bottle of wine while you picnic. Believe it or not, these three things are hard to come by. After cooling down with some Sauvignon Blanc, we switched to a bottle of fruity Cabernet Sauvignon – equally as tasty. Moral of the story: whether you’re a lover of red or white, on a date with Fido or your boyfriend, fancy or cas, Clos Du Val will not disappoint. With the temperature topping off at about 80 degrees, the fitted two-piece dress I had planned to wear was out of the question. Instead I decked out in a chic boho look that could have passed as Free People, yet it was a fraction of the cost. Cut off shorts are […]

Take an edgy outfit to the next level with an equally edgy hairstyle! When the girls at the Red Chair Salon got word that I was going to the Metallica concert, they texted me a picture of a “half up faux hawk” and said, “this screams you for Metallica.” It was a done deal. Luckily for y’all, this hairstyle is easy to recreate at home. Believe it or not, all it takes is a few elastic bands, bobby pins and topsy tails! Whether you’re attending a heavy metal concert or just want to try something new, follow the steps below to achieve this rockin’ hairstyle! Begin by teasing the front section of your hair. Once you’ve created enough volume, fasten your hair into a half up half down ponytail. Next, form a topsy tail out of the small ponytail you just made, then continue topsy tailing 3/4 of the way down the pony. After that, gently pull apart each topsy tail to create an “undone” appearance. Once the topsy tails are in order, comb back two small sections of hair along both sides of your face and criss cross them underneath the ponytail. Fasten the pieces with bobby pins and finish lightly with hairspray. […]
