Fashion designers are reinventing the “classic top” by incorporating ruffles. It sounds dramatic, but it is the truth! Go see for yourself. I am fond of this idea as I always keep an eye out for basics with a twist. This ruffle blouse from H&M is the perfect example. If you look closely, the sleeves feature adjustable button cuffs. The standard blue button-down blouse was totally the inspiration behind this piece. While I do not typically wear button-downs, I sure as heck wear “wanna bes” with ruffles and one-shoulder necklines. For those of you who prefer a traditional neckline, this is a great alternative.

Classic shirts are very easy to style and the same can be said about this one. To begin, closely consider the occasion. Are you attending a bridal shower, brunch, or afternoon tea? If you answered yes to any of the above, I recommend pairing your ruffle shirt with white denim and wedge sandals. For evening wear however, I suggest dressing your top with black denim as seen here. I outfitted myself in this ensemble for dinner and a movie. Dinner was good, but the movie was even better. Have you heard the buzz about Get Out? I do not want to give anything away, but I will leave you with this, it is worth the hype!

I confess: this is my first pair of black high waisted jeans. What the heck was I doing all of my life?! If you’re fond of crop tops, however you don’t like to show your belly button, these pants are for you. Aside from providing additional coverage, they can go dressy or casual, preppy or edgy. After discovering that pointed toe booties elongate the appearance of your legs, I must admit to wearing these pants three times per week. I kid you not!

Today we feature a pretty powder blue crop top and you guessed it, high waisted jeans! I already told you that these pants can go eddy or preppy. Thanks to Brynn Hudson jewelry, this look is a hybrid of the two styles. I like to think of Brynn’s baubles as an alternative to pearls, as they are classic and chic. Furthermore, you can stack them! Stacking jewelry is probably the easiest way to create a lasting impression. I recommend layering the bangle and rose bud bracelets on your wrists, and hanging the bangle and wreath necklaces from your neck. I can assure you heads will be turnin’.
