Wet Weather Game on Point

Confession: I am officially a fair weather snob. Can you really blame me? After two and a half years of temperatures in the mid 60’s and sun shining 90% of the time, three weeks of rain has me feeling like MEH. After too many days straight in lululemon leggings, leg warmers, and sweatshirts, it was time to step up my wet weather game…BIG TIME. Here is how I spent my MLK Day.

I love a look that can easily go from day to night. One easy way of accomplishing this is by putting together an ensemble that looks equally fabulous in flats or heels. My hubby and I worked from home Monday, so I needed an outfit that was appropriate for a causal lunch date, as well as a night out at the symphony. Rather than making an outfit change after dinner, I pieced together a look that would match with my Hunter rain boots and my Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots.

Chomping at the bit to wear my new v-neck sweater from Current Clothing, I paired it with a maroon mini dress…a chunky sweater and jeans never disappoints, but after a serious case of the Mondays, I was in the mood for something different. I added dimension by incorporating a high neck dress underneath the low cut sweater. I adorned myself with a matching maroon clutch, black tassel earrings, a bubble umbrella, and a top knot – muggy weather and flat iron curls do not like each other. For lunch at Roam, I rocked my fringe Hunter boots, and when it was time to head to the symphony, I slipped into black over the knee boots.

Those hunter boots are so cute! And your topknot is on point! I am not used to rain coming from NM, so I just bought my first rain coat and umbrella! Lol

Top knots are my go-to rainy weather hair style! Thanks so much. I had no idea you were from there. Your raincoat was a good investment piece.

LOVE that you your boots have fringe and those earrings are seriously such a staple! I have them in about 3 different colors! So cute! XO

Thanks Natasha! I really am the fringe lady. When it goes out of style, I’ll have to invest in a whole new wardrobe. Yikes! So glad you love the earrings also. I have to stop myself from wearing them too often – staple indeed!
