Ashley had an ambition to become a makeup artist at a very young age and would practice on herself by copying magazine covers. In 2013, she opened her first beauty boutique and began painting faces professionally. After a successful first year, she went on to launch the ASB line. I had the opportunity to try the ever popular products at her charming studio, outside of New Orleans, Tuesday morning!

If you apply your makeup the Ashley way, begin with your eyes. There is nothing worse than messing up your perfectly applied under eye brightener with flaking mascara and excess eyeshadow. Next, skip the moisturizer and SPF. The mineral velvet cream works as both. Caked on makeup is a thing of the past and this stuff will provide you with the full coverage that you love, minus the orange effect.

Available for all complexions, we mixed “La” and “Fiji” before applying to my face. If there is such thing as a perfect match, this is it and I have never been happier with liquid foundation. Don’t fret, if you cannot make it to her studio, email info@ashleysievert.com a picture of your face in natural light, and she will color match you.

[…] Flawless skin is a blessing. Fortunately, 24/7 “smooth” skin is attainable with the right foundation and powders. For the past several months, I have been using Ashley Seivert’s Mineral Velvet Creme Foundation with the Mineral Finishing Velvet Powder and I have never been happier. I used to avoid liquid foundation like the plague. This stuff is light but still provides the full coverage that you would expect out of liquid foundation. After applying “LA” all over my face, I use Glow under eye brightener to conceal my infamous dark circles. Aside from relieving me of my biggest insecurity, Glow is also my eye primer, and highlighter of choice. Read more about these products here. […]
