With the summer months flying by, it’s time to start considering adding transitional pieces into your wardrobe. Whether you like it or not, fall attire is already available at your favorite brick and mortar stores as well as online retailers. This embroidered skirt, featuring fall colors, from H&M is a great example! With temperatures steadying out in the high 60’s, this week I could get away with bare legs and arms! And when you’re working with a fab piece like this embroidered skirt, there’s no need to overdo it. For that reason, I tucked in a plain black racerback top and embellished it slightly with a lace halter bralette – the best bralette on the market may I add! Sometimes varying textures is all it takes to add just enough flair to your ensemble. I rocked my tan wedge gladiators and maroon chapeau to bring out similar hues in the floral embroidery, and polished off the look with my favorite wood jewelry. As a two year resident of San Francisco, I can say with confidence, that you can never own enough jackets! Not necessarily your down or fleece-lined parkas, but lightweight jackets that are easy to layer with are a wardrobe necessity. Although the temperature may rise to a gorgeous cloudless 70 degrees during the day, once the evening strikes and the wind picks up, it gets chilly – even during the summer months. When I came across this black and white patterned jacket at H&M, I grabbed it up immediately. Fitted and just the right weight, this classic beauty is suitable for wearing all year round. This weekend I paired it with a light pink sleeveless blouse and white bandage skirt (black would work too). Although I am a huge fan of monochromatic color schemes, I incorporated pale pink for a nice feminine touch. On a cooler day, I might style this jacket with black slacks and a white button-down boyfriend shirt. If you’re pinched for time but you’ve agreed to bring a dessert to your friend’s dinner party, whip up (literally and figuratively) this two ingredient chocolate mousse! Thanks to our friends over at JELL-O for concocting a delicious instant pudding mix, add two cups of heavy whipping cream, mix it up, and voila! Normally I would write out the steps for you to follow but aside from the advice to use an electric mixer, there is nothing left to tell. It’s as easy as pie. Speaking of, it would make for a delectable pie filling… As you can see, I am serving my mousse with strawberries and marshmallow skewers. Although any fruit would taste great, that is what I was craving today. I topped the mousse with chocolate chips just for decoration. Omit them if you please, or drizzle with crushed nuts for some added texture. Do you need to take the overall presentation to the next level?
