Denim on Denim

Denim on denim is a controversial topic in the fashion world. The whole matchy-matchy thing just became popular – two piece dresses are in. I think Kim Kardashian had something to do with this. She was photographed a number of times, over the last several months, wearing solid high-waisted skirts and matching crop tops. Now you can find matching two piece outfits just about anywhere. Anyway, when it comes to denim, if you are still warming up to the idea, try it first with contrasting washes. Go for a white top and a dark pant or something along the lines of the ensemble photographed below.   When I came across this denim peplum top while perusing Gap’s online store, I had to have it! Does that surprise you?! Peplum this, peplum that…I must admit that I was stumped, at first, when deciding what to pair it with. I am not a big fan of khaki and I do not own the right winter white. Although a skirt would have worked, if you cannot already tell, I am truly a pants and a top kind of girl. So, I styled this “deplum” shirt with my favorite distressed jeans – good thing […]

When you need a Vet, Pronto!

Yesterday, I had the privilege of experiencing my first ever doctor “house call.” But it wasn’t for me, it was for GG! Nothing scary, she’s in great health, but just like humans are due for a check-up once in a while, so are our furry friends. I’m not going to lie, when VetPronto reached out to me with a kind introductory letter, I imagined a big red van riding up to my house, with “VetPronto” slapped on the side, and a very serious veterinarian in scrubs and a white coat. After all of that build up, I am happy to say that I was wrong – on so many levels!   When I opened the front door at 3 o’clock on the dot, the very punctual veterinarian introduced herself as Dr. Margaret Hoppe. There was no trace of a red van, and Dr. Hoppe was not dressed in scrubs or a white coat. Instead, she was casual and comfortable in nice jeans, a red top and stylish pointy-toe flats! We hit it off immediately.   Off to the “exam room” (aka the living room) we go. Just like any typical vet visit, we started off going over GG’s medical history. […]

Wishlist Wednesday: Kendra Scott Rose Gold Drusy

Rose gold is here to stay and it is officially my new favorite metal. This hardware can be mixed with yellow or white gold and pops particularly well against a dark complexion. Whether you are looking for a pair of earrings, a necklace, a bracelet, or a ring, Kendra Scott has a gorgeous assortment of rose gold jewlery.   The Elsie Stud earrings in “Rose Gold Drusy” are jaw droppers. These studs (no pun intended!) are the perfect jewels to wear with your hair pulled up or down. Effortlessly jazz up any ensemble with a pair of these. Did I mention they are on sale?! If you’re a fan of the Elsie Studs, then you’re going to love the matching bracelet…   The Hanna Bracelet is an everyday must-have. Off the top of my head, I can already think of one, two, three recent looks, that this bracelet would of looked fab with! The matte cuff is simple yet elegant, while the glitzy stones add a touch of fun. Pair it with jeans during the daytime or show it off during a cocktail attire event.   The Haylee Ring in Rose Gold Drusy is the perfect addition to your collection […]

Valentine’s Day Outfit Inspiration: Part Two

For those of you planning on wearing a dress on Saturday, this outfit inspiration is for you! Unlike my first look, I decided to tone down the love and hearts theme and go for an embellished beige dress. In my opinion, beige can be worn all-year-round, and it is particularly fun to accessorize with. Smother on some bright red lipstick, or rock a bright pink shoe. Anything goes.   The dress photographed below is rather loose with a gold sequined overlay. Being roomy in nature, this is the perfect garment to wear for a fancy five course dinner. Who wants to worry about their skirt zipping closed, after chowing down on a delicious meal?! Now just because this dress doesn’t hug your curves, doesn’t mean that it isn’t flattering. The above-the-knee length shows off your legs while the low cut back helps flaunt extra skin back there.   Originally, I styled this look with simple “Peek-a-boo” pearl earrings, my rose gold watch, and nude Christian Louboutin’s – loving how the red sole adds just a touch of color. Being the color enthusiast that I am, however, I swapped out my nude pumps for bright red bedazzled high heels. Which ones […]
