Part One: The Food Tucked away along 19th street in the Mission, stands Lazy Bear San Francisco, a fine dining restaurant. You’ll leave this one-of-a-kind experience licking your lips, oo-ing and aw-ing and pinching yourself to make sure the flavors on your palate were not just your imagination’s concoctions. Headed by, self-taught culinary genius, David Barzelay, Lazy Bear (an anagram of the chef’s last name) began as a “popup” eatery and evolved into a brick and mortar restaurant. With only two seatings per night (Tuesday through Saturday), and a 45 person cap, this place plays the supply and demand game right! Reservations are not accepted. Instead, you must purchase tickets in advance if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on ’em! They sell out that fast. Included in the $120 per person price tag is a gourmet 11+ course meal including the freshest, rarest and most delectable ingredients you’ll ever eat. A beverage pairing is available for an additional charge, as well as an a la carte beverage menu. Upstairs in the cozy loft courses one through four were served. The perfectly balanced pomegranate daiquiri, and the duck “Slim Jim” were my favorite items. Just imagine the […]
If you are a fan of DIY projects, and you enjoy drinking wine, then pour a glass and get workin’ on this seasonal craft! Here is what you’ll need to spruce up your mantle: a pair of scissors a spool of wired ribbon an empty wine bottle with labels removed (all shapes and sizes will work) a string of miniature holiday lights stickers or metallic markers (optional) Directions: Step one: Begin by washing out the wine bottle and removing the labels. Let the bottle dry for 30 minutes to an hour. Step two: Once the bottle has aired out, carefully feed the string of lights down into the bottle leaving the power adapter accessible. When you’re finished, go ahead and plug that bad boy in. If you are unhappy with the way it lights up, feel free to stick the end of a wooden spoon into the bottle to maneuver them around a bit. Step three: Use your wired ribbon to make a decorative bow. If this is your first time attempting a fancy bow, watch this YouTube video for step-by-step instructions. It’s a great tutorial for beginners. Step four: Fasten the bow to […]
Last week, Pantone announced its annual “Color of the Year.” If you haven’t already heard, Marsala took the 2015 crown. Defined as a, “naturally robust and earthy wine red,” Marsala is not only a fun color to add to your wardrobe, but it’s suitable for home decor and appliances as well. You might be surprised how much Marsala you already own. Maybe it’s the color of your every day lipstick, or your nail polish. For the men out there though, it might take a little bit more effort to work this hue into your attire…but if you’re gonna buy into the hype, you might as well dive in with both feet! Start out with a couple of neutrals such as beige, and an earthy green, then work in Marsala for some added pop. In the outfit below, I started out with a textured crew cut sweater, and paired it with an olive green sport coat. Because a tie was out of the question, I jazzed up the top half with a scarf featuring a contrasting yellow stripe. I completed the look with a pair of jeans in the sharpest color around, Marsala. Local […]
Flash lenses have been a hot commodity for several months. I do not yet own a pair, but I’ve been admiring various frames in store windows and displays. It wasn’t until the Sunglass Hut put out a pretty little sign, promoting flash lenses that just hit the shelves, that my obsession began. How CUTE are these “purple” and gold (they look more like pink to me) aviators by Ray-Ban?! Typically, pilot Ray-Bans come in two sizes – the Aviator Classic, and the Aviator small. This is the case for the blue and green mirrored glasses you’ve probably noticed fashionistas around the city sporting, but they have not yet released a petite version in the purple and gold frames. Hopefully after the new year these gorgeous shades will be available in the smaller size…if not, I might just have to get used to the original style!
It was finally time to”turn in” my old GG phone case, for a new one for my iPhone 6 Plus. Before the GG case, I entrusted in Incipio products to safeguard all of my devices. They are the best on the market for many reasons. Not only are they trendy and attractive, but the large assortment of goods makes it possible for everybody to find exactly what they’re looking for. Need a portfolio case for your iPhone? They’ve got it. Need a case with a kickstand? They’ve got it. Need a case with a credit card holder? They’ve got it. I think you get the idea. From heavy duty, to lightweight and fashionable, Incipio has the iPhone case for you! Now let’s get real…your iPhone and it’s outer shell are just as much a fashion accessory as your wrist watch. For that reason, I chose the DualPro® SHINE Case in rose gold and blush. It’s gorgeous. Neutral enough to match everything, yet the rose gold adds just enough glam. More importantly, it is super protective. With a rubber inner layer and tough outer layer, my phone will be secure even in the harshest conditions! The […]
