Blush, Blush, and a Blush Dress

I’ve had a thing for cat eye glasses ever since purchasing my first pair from Tom Ford three years ago. They are SO retro and a great way to make a statement when you are wearing an ordinary outfit. As my affection for blush continues to grow, I decided there would be no better way to rock my blush stunner shades than with a blush dress and matching shoes. Here’s to another monochromatic look!     I don’t always agree with the phrase, “less is more,” but when you are working with a monochromatic color scheme, I could not agree more! Just like a black on black look, sticking with one hue can save time and take away the stress of piecing together an outfit. Not to mention there is something so elegant about this style and monochrome pastel ensembles happen to be my favorite.     I styled this little blush dress with pearls and espadrille wedge sandals (last seen here). When you do not want to introduce another color into your outfit, pearls are always a safe choice. In this instance, they fit in perfectly with the ultra feminine theme going on. If you’re in the market for […]

Neon Jumpsuit

I’ve never met a jumpsuit I didn’t like. Similar to rompers, they take the thinking out of coordinating an outfit. While I genuinely love piecing together a killer ensemble, sometimes it’s just as satisfying to pull on a killer one-piece and go. Today I’m showcasing a neon jumpsuit from Asos.     Yellow gets a bad rep because it used to be considered an “enlarging” hue. When styled correctly, however, it is very complimentary and totally show stopping material. The trick is to keep things simple. This stunner from Asos is the perfect cotton blend for the warm summer months. Whether you’re shopping till you’re dropping or out to brunch with the ladies, an easy jumpsuit like this will get you from a to b.     This strapless neon jumpsuit features a very fitted waist and wide-cut leg. If you’re looking for the fastest way to elongate the appearance of your frame, wide legged anything is a good way to do it. Sticking to a black and brown color palette to tone the yellow down, I saved the gaudy accessories for another day, and styled this piece with wooden jewelry and a watch. In the market for a new […]

Pom Pom Shirt

The pom pom frenzy continues and I am in good company. All day everyday as I scroll through Instagram, I notice my favorite fashionistas nationwide decked out in ’em. You already caught a glimpse of my sandals last week here, but today I am all about this pom pom shirt!     Ok, ok, I know what you’re thinking, “another off the shoulder shirt?” It’s funny because two years ago I could not stand OTS tops – they would never stay in place. This year they’re almost all that I wear – I just tape them down with double sided fashion tape. Anyway, the White Off The Shoulder Colored Pom Pom Trim Blouse from SheIn is one that you should add to your collection ASAP. This playful shirt can double as beachwear and everyday summer garb. Thanks to its loose fit and lightweight construction, you will stay cool and well-ventilated while you wear this hip item.     Do not let the pom poms intimidate you. Simply style this piece as you would a versatile white top. My friend Shell, over at A Courageous Beauty, took an all white approach, while I paired this shirt with black cutoff shorts. I […]

Custom iPhone Case + Promo Code

It is never ok to sacrifice style. Your fashion style is a visual way to express yourself through clothes and accessories. Whether you are wearing such adornments or they are just along for the ride, they still make a statement about YOU. Common items such as: keychains, dog leashes, iPhone cases, and laptop skins are easily forgotten, but they all contribute to the cause.     If we have anything in common aside from a passion for fashion then you too cannot live without your phone! No different than a purse or wallet, you will never leave the house without it. Show your prized possession some love and dress it up with a fashionable case from caseapp.     Whether you embellish a fabulous pre-made case, or start from scratch, design a fashion masterpiece of a case from home. I juggled with the idea of uploading a pic of my dog, GG, but ultimately decided to add a little bit of flair to one of the stock designs. From animal prints, playful patterns, wood, to marble, there’s something for everyone.     I added my blog name, “Kelsey Kaplan Fashion,” to a blush and marble stock design, and it just […]

Palm Print Monokini

Swimsuit season is officially here and the monokini has become the new “it” item. If you recognize the featured suit, it is because I featured it on a recent Wish List Wednesday post. It’s very common for at least one of those items to make it into my closet!     I’ve been keeping tabs on the one-piece trend for quite a while now but this is the first time I’ve given one a try. It’s nice to have an option for the days we aren’t feeling our best in the mid section without having to sacrifice style. Similar to dresses, monokinis come in varying necklines and silhouettes. To find one flattering for your body type, follow the same guidelines you would for a dress. Broad shoulders? Gravitate towards a halter top. Short torso? Elongate the appearance of your trunk with a plunging neckline. Catch my drift?!     I am very happy with this ever popular palm print monokini. To begin, it was only $19.99, but aside from the pretty price point, it’s very complimentary for an athletic frame. The deep v-neck and cutout sides slim the frame nicely, creating curves in all the right places. Stylistically, the knot […]
