If you’re searching for paradise on the world map, look no further than Maui! The Perfect destination for a romantic getaway, family vacation, or outdoor adventure, you’ll be planning your next trip before your return flight takes off. While there is still so much more of the island to explore, below are a few of our trip highlights. The beach at Wailea is sheer bliss. The golden sand is as soft as it comes, the water is crystal clear, and the temperature is just right. We rented stand-up paddle boards one morning and enjoyed riding the current along the coastline. On a calm day admire the coral and fish from above, and if you’re lucky, a sea turtle or two may even grace you with their presence. Although I am totally fascinated with underwater life, going down there is another story! I left the scuba diving to my hubby and Makena Coast Dive Charters took great care of him. Coming from the mouth of a “city foodie,” you will not be disappointed with the cuisine in Maui. We thoroughly enjoyed dinner at Pita Paradise – getting our mediterranean fix in the first night we were there. If […]
Just like jean pants, jean shorts are a wardrobe staple. And as much as I am a fan of distressed denim, I am a fan of cutoff denim shorts. The last time I wore this floral embroidered pair was in Napa Valley for Valentine’s Day. With the change of scenery I mixed things up this time with a white blouse and flatform sandals. The Frilled Cut-Out Shoulder Shirt from Zara is a fun take on the traditional white button down. Featuring a dramatic ruffle detail, wear it as a sleeveless top or pull it down over your arms as an off-the-shoulder blouse. For a laid back night at the resort, full of Mai Tais, I rocked this top with my floral embroidered jean shorts (last seen here). I accessorized with a white clutch and gold sandals, going for a casual beachy look. If you are in the market for a pair of summer heels that are easy to walk in, look no further than the Sabbie espadrille platform. These beauts provide you the comfort of a flat without sacrificing the height – the perfect combination if you ask me! Stay tuned for a guide to Maui and a deeper […]
Being in the tropics is wonderful for many reasons. Amazing weather, fruity beverages, and the beach definitely sweeten the deal, but to me, the wardrobe is the most exciting part (surprise, surprise!). If you follow me on Instagram, then you probably think I spent the last five days in swimsuits and cover-ups during my trip to Hawaii. While this was true during daylight hours, I took advantage of the tropical climate to get some warm weather looks in for mealtime. Is it just me, or do you all agree that summer clothes are better than winter clothes?! Jumpsuits and rompers make wonderful vacation attire. Rather than coordinating an ensemble, slip into a onezie and your work is complete! Not to mention they cut down on the bulk in your suitcase. For a candlelit steak dinner, I slipped into the Plunge Neck Wide Leg Jumpsuit from Asos. Elegant yet steamy, prepare for the compliments to roll in like wildfire. This blue and white one-piece is one of my favorite items in my closet and from top to bottom it will have heads turnin’. A v-cut neckline, and an open back taper into a fitted waist making way […]
It is hard to believe but festival season is quickly approaching and along with the season comes the attire. The most important part…obviously. Over the next several weeks I will be sharing a few fest-friendly looks. Enjoy! Leave it to Free People to design the perfect fest getup. The cotton “Mi Corazon Set” will keep you cool and you’ll look damn good at the same time. You all know I love matching separates, and this one in off-white has all the right details. The bell-bottom arms create just enough drama while the cutout designs and tassel tie closure scream chic boho. $168 for two FP articles?! Consider it a steal. For the Greek Goddess in you, add knee high gladiator sandals to your MUST-HAVE list. The Utopia Pom Pom Sandals by SandalsofLove are flat out dreamy. These beauties are handmade out of genuine Greek leather and feature semi-precious stones, tassels, and pom poms. Make sure to go for a pedi before you break these out because all eyes will be on the shoes. If the lace-up design does not suit your fancy, not to worry, there are plenty more to choose from. If you were […]
This week we are honoring the life of the late Nancy Reagan, former First Lady. In addition to her likable personality, it has come to my attention that she was quite the fashion icon. After doing some research, it reminded me how cyclical fashion truly is. I hope this write up featuring some of Mrs. Reagan’s best looks is demonstrative of that. Mrs. Reagan stunned at a presidential dinner in 1988 wearing a lace dress. The scalloped neckline and fine lace details are simply perfect. Evidently red was one of her favorite colors and she sure wore it well! I admire how she styled the dress with chunky gold jewelry, as I am a firm believer in the phrase, “less is more.” Fast forward to 2016 lace is everywhere, but today’s take on this classic material is a sheer and lace combo. The Paradise Luxe Ivory Lace Maxi Dress and the Date Night Lace Dress are great examples of this trend. In the late 1960’s former First Lady, Nancy Reagan, was photographed in a sweet navy and white collared dress. Although pictured while seated, I have a feeling this little number was the ever popular trapeze silhouette! […]
