Matching Separates the Funky way

The Rodeo Boutique showcase continues (click here to get the 411), but this time I’m having fun in matching separates…maybe a little too much fun! While driving around the LSU lakes, in search of a shooting location, we came across a vintage Chevrolet truck. It was our lucky day because the owner of the truck happened to be outside and got a kick out of us wanting to use it as a prop. In fact, he was suggesting some of my poses! “Southern hospitality” truly exists and this is a funny example of it.     You already know I am a huge fan of two-piece sets because they take the thinking out of getting dressed. This tomato red pair, by findersKEEPERS, is simply chic. The fitted crop top features a wrap front detail and exposed back zipper, making it a great standalone piece also. Picture this stunner with white high-waisted flare leg jeans. I stuck to basics this time around and styled it with matching trouser shorts. Once upon a time I became friendly with a clothing boutique owner, Tonya, in Connecticut, close to where I grew up. Heading off to college in Miami, FL, shortly after, I would routinely visit her shop on holiday breaks. There was no other place like it (so I thought) and I would return to school with a new semester wardrobe that no one else could replicate. After completing my sophomore year, I changed my major to Fashion Merchandising, but there was one problem… FIU did not have a merchandising major.     After a lot of research and contemplation, I decided to transfer to LSU, in Baton Rouge, LA where there was an accredited fashion program. Carrying on with my life in CT the summer before I started, I visited Tonya to share my news. What are the chances that her sister owned a similar store in Baton Rouge close to the university?! I was in complete shock, but really excited at the same time. When in Maui

If you’re searching for paradise on the world map, look no further than Maui! The Perfect destination for a romantic getaway, family vacation, or outdoor adventure, you’ll be planning your next trip before your return flight takes off. While there is still so much more of the island to explore, below are a few of our trip highlights.   The beach at Wailea is sheer bliss. The golden sand is as soft as it comes, the water is crystal clear, and the temperature is just right. We rented stand-up paddle boards one morning and enjoyed riding the current along the coastline. On a calm day admire the coral and fish from above, and if you’re lucky, a sea turtle or two may even grace you with their presence. Although I am totally fascinated with underwater life, going down there is another story! I left the scuba diving to my hubby and Makena Coast Dive Charters took great care of him.     Coming from the mouth of a “city foodie,” you will not be disappointed with the cuisine in Maui.
