Denim Shorts and Flatform Sandals

Just like jean pants, jean shorts are a wardrobe staple. And as much as I am a fan of distressed denim, I am a fan of cutoff denim shorts. The last time I wore this floral embroidered pair was in Napa Valley for Valentine’s Day. With the change of scenery I mixed things up this time with a white blouse and flatform sandals. The Frilled Cut-Out Shoulder Shirt from Zara is a fun take on the traditional white button down. Featuring a dramatic ruffle detail, wear it as a sleeveless top or pull it down over your arms as an off-the-shoulder blouse. For a laid back night at the resort, full of Mai Tais, I rocked this top with my floral embroidered jean shorts (last seen here). I accessorized with a white clutch and gold sandals, going for a casual beachy look. Wide Leg Jumpsuit

Being in the tropics is wonderful for many reasons. Amazing weather, fruity beverages, and the beach definitely sweeten the deal, but to me, the wardrobe is the most exciting part (surprise, surprise!). If you follow me on Instagram, then you probably think I spent the last five days in swimsuits and cover-ups during my trip to Hawaii. While this was true during daylight hours, I took advantage of the tropical climate to get some warm weather looks in for mealtime. Is it just me, or do you all agree that summer clothes are better than winter clothes?! Jumpsuits and rompers make wonderful vacation attire. Wish List Wednesday: Festival Season

It is hard to believe but festival season is quickly approaching and along with the season comes the attire. The most important part…obviously. Over the next several weeks I will be sharing a few fest-friendly looks. Enjoy! Leave it to Free People to design the perfect fest getup. The cotton “Mi Corazon Set” will keep you cool and you’ll look damn good at the same time. You all know I love matching separates, and this one in off-white has all the right details. Nancy Reagan: A True Fashion Icon

This week we are honoring the life of the late Nancy Reagan, former First Lady. In addition to her likable personality, it has come to my attention that she was quite the fashion icon. After doing some research, it reminded me how cyclical fashion truly is. I hope this write up featuring some of Mrs. Reagan’s best looks is demonstrative of that. Mrs. Reagan stunned at a presidential dinner in 1988 wearing a lace dress. The scalloped neckline and fine lace details are simply perfect. Evidently red was one of her favorite colors and she sure wore it well! I admire how she styled the dress with chunky gold jewelry, as I am a firm believer in the phrase, “less is more.” Fast forward to 2016 lace is everywhere, but today’s take on this classic material is a sheer and lace combo. The Paradise Luxe Ivory Lace Maxi Dress and the Date Night Lace Dress are great examples of this trend. Wish List Wednesday: Gold Home Goods

Gold accents are a favorite of mine and I am not just talking about in my wardrobe! Rather, around my home. This Wish List Wednesday I am sharing a few of my favorite gold home goods (all currently on sale) that I may or may not already own. When it comes to my home, I like everything neat and tidy (somehow my closet does not count). Rather than storing decanters of adult beverages on the kitchen counter, organize them on a bar cart. Featuring three mirrored shelves, this pretty little thing can easily “cart” around bottles, mixers, and cocktail napkins to name a few. When you’re hosting an underage crew, transform it into a cookie buffet, hot chocolate station, etc., the options are endless. Is it just me, or do you all agree that your cocktail tastes better when you drink it out of good-looking glass wear?! Toss the plastic wine and champagne flutes, and serve your concoction in gold faceted stemless glasses. Now these I would store on the kitchen counter because they’re so bleeping pretty!
