Err on the side of caution and dress in laters. Open for business 10-9pm on the weekdays and 9-9pm on the weekends, patrons frequent the joint in an array of outfits. Some in workout clothes, scrubs, business attire, or play clothes. When I’m not in shorts, I’m in boyfriend jeans and a graphic tee.

You already know I overdress. What can I say, I am most confident when I like my outfit! Snag these striped shorts quick because they are only $14.90 and will go like hot cakes! I plan to dress them up with strappy heels and a blazer on another occasion. For today however, I am dressing them down with a flowing halter top and wedge sandals. I always keep a light jacket with me. You never know when Karl the Fog will make an appearance. Now go fill up on tostones and chicken and remember to order the pink beans!

Fashion designers are reinventing the “classic top” by incorporating ruffles. It sounds dramatic, but it is the truth! Go see for yourself. I am fond of this idea as I always keep an eye out for basics with a twist. This ruffle blouse from H&M is the perfect example. If you look closely, the sleeves feature adjustable button cuffs. The standard blue button-down blouse was totally the inspiration behind this piece. While I do not typically wear button-downs, I sure as heck wear “wanna bes” with ruffles and one-shoulder necklines. For those of you who prefer a traditional neckline, this is a great alternative.

Classic shirts are very easy to style and the same can be said about this one. To begin, closely consider the occasion. Are you attending a bridal shower, brunch, or afternoon tea? If you answered yes to any of the above, I recommend pairing your ruffle shirt with white denim and wedge sandals. For evening wear however, I suggest dressing your top with black denim as seen here. I outfitted myself in this ensemble for dinner and a movie. Dinner was good, but the movie was even better. Have you heard the buzz about Get Out? I do not want to give anything away, but I will leave you with this, it is worth the hype!

Let your velvet obsession begin! Who would have thought that this fabric would resurface in a variety of shapes and forms?! I sure didn’t after I retired my velvet overalls from Gap way back in the 90s (insert laughing emoji). Anyway, I’m stoked that velvet is “in” again because it’s actually very regal. How about this block heel bootie?! The “Edit” in blue is dreamy and it’ll match with everything you already dress your blue skinny jeans with.

It is safe to say that Kristin Cavallari and I have the same taste in shoes – I live in her slouch bootie during the work week. Just as I went to order another pair, I discovered the “Santorini.” OH. EM. GEE. Never have I ever laid eyes on a funkier shoe. I cannot decide what I like better, the geometrical shaped heel, or the color blocked design. Whether you choose the black, brown, or cognac, I guarantee your feet will be the best dressed in the room.

This yellow gown will bring all of your Bollywood fantasies to life. I truly felt like an Indian princess the entire night. Covered from top to bottom in pearls and beads, no details were missed in the making of this piece. Featuring a high neck and high slit, this gown is as dramatic as it can get. I’m wearing the petite version but it is available in tall too. How convenient is that?! You can thank Maya Evening Wear and Asos for that.

With so much dazzling already going on, I accessorized with dainty emerald jewels (complimentary colors for added pop), and genuine Indian earrings. When you’re styling a piece with a thigh high slit, be considerate about the shoes. In a traditional floor length gown, your shoes will go unnoticed. But with a peek-a-boo dress like this, all eyes will be on the legs and the shoes! I went with Steve Madden’s “Slithur” sandals – I loved how the cutout shapes matched the square beading on the dress.

A special occasion calls for a special hairdo. Thanks to the lovely ladies of Beauty Entourage, our hotel room was transformed into a glam room in a matter of minutes! Cathy painted my face with a smoky eye and red lip, while Rachel whipped up a voluminous side twist. I was thrilled with my new look and was very impressed with their efficiency.

Do not let a multicolor print intimidate you. There is no better time to rock a vibrant geometric dress than during the summertime (unfortunately this exact one is sold out but I found a similar one). You can always tone it down with accessories or jackets and other toppers if the weather permits. For example, the featured look would have looked equally as fab with a white or blue denim jacket over it. If you prefer to go unnoticed, stick with a neutral pair of shoes and matching purse.

Getting noticed comes along with the title of “Fashion Blogger.” I consider it a job well done when a stranger goes out of their way to ask me about my clothes. Rather than toning down this geometric print dress, I fed off of all the great colors and shapes! Blue, purple, and orange were three predominant colors in my eyes, so I accessorized accordingly. Never have I ever received more compliments on a pair of shoes, before! Aside from their good looks and unique color, the block heel provides all day comfort. Score!

When I first laid eyes on this little number, it reminded me of a warm weather version of my burgundy skater dress. The modest fit and longer length makes it suitable for religious affairs, business luncheons, and so on. It is a good idea to have one of these on hand each season. Great news – this denim dress, originally $92, is on sale for $56! Feeling inspired by Pantone’s Colors of the Year, I styled this piece with “Rose Quartz” aka blush accessories.

When you are working with a conservative dress, it is easy to spice things up with statement jewelry. Contrary to the dazzlers I would normally go for, I took the opportunity to wear a pair of pink pom pom earrings. I think they did the trick! To take the look full circle, I toted a metallic clutch and stepped out in pink espadrille wedges. These shoes are a great buy because they compliment nearly every color in the rainbow, “Serenity” being one of them! How have you styled Pantone’s favorite hues this year?!

If you’ve been following my blog from the start, than you know by now that I hardly ever wear flats. Unless I am working out, I take advantage of every boost that I can get! However, there have already been a number of occasions this month where a pair of flats would have been ideal. On that note, I consider the Accelerate Fringe Sandals a need, rather than a want. These flats also come in standard black, gray, and tan, but when styled correctly, the rust can act as a neutral. Pair them with cutoff shorts and rompers.

There is something so sweet and innocent about espadrilles. Maybe that is because of the childhood memories I have, during our time in Puerto Rico, running the neighborhood in espadrille sandals. Whatever the reason, they remain a popular warm weather item and look lovely with feminine ensembles. I am crushing hard on the Bethani by Jessica Simpson. These peep toe wedges are perfect for baby showers, weddings, and every other spring soiree that comes your way. If you are not a fan of blush (who isn’t these days?), then go for a buff pair.

No matter the time of year, black and brown is one of my favorite color combinations. It is effortless, yet classic, chic, and easy to put together at the same time. When it comes to workout pants, I prefer the capri length. For hot-natured folks like myself, full length leggings can become uncomfortably warm.
