Tracksuit for the Modern Day Fashionista

The last time I wore a a matching tracksuit was probably in the late 90’s during indoor field hockey practice. I was a big fan of those Adidas pants, that made a swishing sound as you walked, and matching jackets (insert laughing emoji here). Gone are the days for old school warmups…check out this sporty pair available at Rode’o Boutique! Along with water, shelter, and food, exercise is another essential item in my life. I typically spend an hour per day at “the bar” getting my daily dose of exercise induced endorphins. With the spring season, however, comes 5K and 10K road races and my hubby has us lined up for one at the end of the month. I’ll be swapping out the barre clothes for jogging clothes at least twice a week, beginning with this MinkPink tracksuit. Matching Separates the Funky way

The Rodeo Boutique showcase continues (click here to get the 411), but this time I’m having fun in matching separates…maybe a little too much fun! While driving around the LSU lakes, in search of a shooting location, we came across a vintage Chevrolet truck. It was our lucky day because the owner of the truck happened to be outside and got a kick out of us wanting to use it as a prop. In fact, he was suggesting some of my poses! “Southern hospitality” truly exists and this is a funny example of it. You already know I am a huge fan of two-piece sets because they take the thinking out of getting dressed. This tomato red pair, by findersKEEPERS, is simply chic. The fitted crop top features a wrap front detail and exposed back zipper, making it a great standalone piece also. Picture this stunner with white high-waisted flare leg jeans. Once upon a time I became friendly with a clothing boutique owner, Tonya, in Connecticut, close to where I grew up. Heading off to college in Miami, FL, shortly after, I would routinely visit her shop on holiday breaks. There was no other place like it (so I thought) and I would return to school with a new semester wardrobe that no one else could replicate. After completing my sophomore year, I changed my major to Fashion Merchandising, but there was one problem… FIU did not have a merchandising major. After a lot of research and contemplation, I decided to transfer to LSU, in Baton Rouge, LA where there was an accredited fashion program. Carrying on with my life in CT the summer before I started, I visited Tonya to share my news. What are the chances that her sister owned a similar store in Baton Rouge close to the university?!
