Wear your Dog’s Face on Your Sweatshirt!

Today someone asked me for the “pros and cons of adopting a dog in SF.” Simply put: there are none! I remember feeling so insecure with my decision to get a dog while we were living in Baton Rouge. Now when I think back at my indecisive self, it is comical! GG brings so much joy and sweetness to the world. I cannot believe I went 24 years of my life without her! Of course added responsibility comes with pet ownership, but it is worth every sacrifice and “chore.” Aside from her wonderful companionship, I attribute 90% of our friendships and “connections” in San Francisco to GG’s Shih Tzu sass! Dogs are instant conversation starters and a great way to meet new people. This also holds true when you are wearing one on your sweatshirt!     A few months ago I saw my friend Khanh, of @SweetandPetite_ on Instagram, wearing the CUTEST sweatshirt featuring her dog’s portrait. Foodie Friday: Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

OMG. I’ve been doing it wrong all these years…cooking garlic that is! Two days ago I was scrolling through Facebook when a mouth-watering pasta dish popped up on my screen. It was a recipe for Spaghetti Aglio e Olio aka spaghetti and olive oil! Nothing gourmet about it but it looked so delicious that I changed up my dinner menu, had Jonathan pick up some fresh parm cheese, and I whipped it up for a midweek dinner. Sure enough it was loaded with flavor and surprisingly light. It might just be my new favorite summertime dish!   Spaghetti Aglio e Olio Ingredients and Supplies: Large saucepan Large saute pan (I used this one) 6 cloves garlic kosher salt 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil Black pepper Red pepper flakes Fresh parsley Block of fresh parmesan cheese Directions: Bring water to a boil in large saucepan. Sprinkle generously with salt. Once water begins to boil, slice all six garlic cloves into thin pieces. Happy Wednesday friends…how’s it going? I hope you are all staying healthy and safe, and enjoying quality time with your “quaran-team.” It is undenianly a dark time in history filled with uncertainty and sorrow. I have been on the East Coast for two months helping a family member through an illness (unrelated to covid-19), away from Jonathan and the fashionable life I live in San Francisco. We all cope with such things differently, but “window shopping” always lifts my mood. Lately I have found myself daydreaming about wine country. I envision myself outfitted in a dress and sun hat, sitting under an umbrella, with a glass of cab in hand!
